Tuna Casserole
Ingredients
1 can (10 ½ oz) low-sodium cream of mushroom soup
½ cup low-fat or fat-free milk
2 tablespoons pimientos (optional)
1 cup frozen peas and carrots mix
2 cans (about 5 oz each) tuna packed in water, drained
2 cups medium egg noodles, cooked and drained
¾ teaspoon salt-free Creole seasoning
2 tablespoons plain, dry bread crumbs
1 tablespoon melted margarine or liquid margarine
Directions
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a 1 ½ quart casserole dish, stir together the soup, milk, pimientos, peas and carrots, tuna and noodles.
- Season the mixture with salt-free Creole seasoning.
- Bake the tuna mixture for 20 minutes or until hot.
- In a small bowl, stir together the bread crumbs and melted margarine.
- After 20 minutes or when the casserole is hot, take the dish out of the oven, stir the mixture, and top with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Bake for another 5 minutes or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
